How we use cookies and respect your privacy.

1. Why this policy exists

When you visit XV Live Cams (“the Site,” “we,” “us,” “our”) small files called cookies may be placed on your device. This document describes exactly which cookies appear, why they are used, and how you can control them. I have written it in plain language so every visitor, including those protected by European and Californian legislation, can understand our practices.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a short line of text stored on your computer, phone, or tablet when a website loads. Some cookies keep a shopping cart working or remember a language choice. Others gather statistics. The files themselves are tiny and cannot run software.

3. Cookies set by this Site

XV Live Cams runs a simple affiliate directory. We do not serve advertising, ask you to register, or track reading habits. For that reason we do not place any first-party cookies.

The only cookies connected to your visit come from the external webcam platforms listed on our pages. They serve three purposes:

  • Referral tracking – the cookie records that you arrived from our directory.
  • Commission calculation – if you spend money on the partner site the cookie tells the partner to credit us.
  • Fraud prevention – the tag prevents duplicate payouts and confirms genuine traffic.

These files are issued and read solely by the partner you visit. We never see their contents.

4. What we never learn

Because the referral tag belongs to the partner site, XV Live Cams receives no personal data. We do not know your name, location, purchase history, or browsing steps on the partner domain. Reports we receive show only anonymous totals such as “25 sales credited this week.”

5. Legal bases and regional rules

European Economic Area (EEA)

Applicable laws: General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.
How we comply: We set no tracking technology ourselves. When you land on a partner site, that business is responsible for requesting consent in line with Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Articles 6 & 7 of the GDPR.

United Kingdom

Applicable laws: UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
How we comply: Same approach as above. The partner must display a cookie banner and record your choice before writing non-essential cookies.

California (USA)

Applicable laws: California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
How we comply: A third-party referral tag might be classified as a “sale” under Californian definitions. You can block or delete that tag using the tools described in section 6 to exercise your right to opt out.

Canada

Applicable laws: Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
How we comply: No personal information is collected or stored on our servers, so PIPEDA consent requirements do not apply to our site directly.

6. Controlling cookies on your device

You remain in charge. Below are common methods to view, limit, or erase cookies:

  • Browser settings – All modern browsers allow you to see each cookie, set expiry rules, or block categories. Look under Settings, Options, or Preferences.
  • Private browsing – Opening a private or incognito window keeps cookies only until you close the browser.
  • Add-ons – Tools such as uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and browser-built tracking protection can block third-party cookies by default.
  • Mobile controls – iOS and Android browsers include similar menus under Site Settings or Advanced.

Be aware that blocking third-party cookies may prevent the partner site from recognising our referral. Prices and features on the partner site will stay the same but we may not receive credit.

7. Cookies classed as “strictly necessary”

Because we host no account system or shopping cart, the Site has no essential cookies. You may browse every page with cookies disabled and nothing will break.

8. Updates to this document

Regulations evolve and partner technology changes. When we adjust our practices we will post a new version here with a fresh “Last updated” date. Continual browsing after that date means you accept the revised text.
